Yummm!

I don’t know why, but it seems like things made from scratch with fresh ingredients just taste the best.

Store bought just lacks something. Maybe it’s because it was made… a week or a month ago… Maybe it’s the strange ingredients that include preservative this and chemical name that…

And if there’s one thing I indulge in, (okay, no raised eyebrows here at the “one” 🙂 it’s enjoying home-made when it tastes really really really good.

So when you want home-made cookies that will keep you going back to the cookie jar for ‘just one more”…

‘Gotta Have Another One of Those’ Cookies

2 1/3 cups Gold Medal unbleached all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened almost to room temperature
3/4 cup C&H Baker’s ultrafine pure cane sugar
3/4 cup C&H packed golden brown sugar
1 tablespoon Neilsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon pure vanilla extract
2 extra large grade AA eggs

12 oz. Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
1/2 cup Mauna Loa chopped dry roasted macadamias

(p.s. you can use any brands that you want to – these are just the ones that I have found by trial and error made the most delicious cookies time and again)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Turn mix master off and remove beaters from bowl.
Stir in chips and nuts. Combine well with a wooden spoon until dough sticks to everything.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto parchment paper covered cookie sheets.

Bake for 10 – 11 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Slide parchment paper/cookies onto wire racks to cool completely, approximately 2 hours.
Makes approximately 6 dozen cookies.

And yes, I have been known to lick the last little bits of raw dough
off of the beaters before I wash them… Now, you do too ! Fess ‘up and stop pretending to be so grown-up 🙂
